The Vinayaka Missions Sikkim University (VMSU) is located in Gangtok and it is offering different courses in management, law, education, computer applications, basic sciences, commerce, arts etc for the streams mentioned and the eligibility criteria may differ for different departments. For B.Tech programs such as civil Engineering, the applicant must have completed 12th standard with mathematics, physics, and chemistry and must have scored more than 50% aggregate. Each applicant for BBA should have completed 12th standard in any stream with 50% marks. Likewise, for BA LLB, the applicant must have passed 12th in any stream with minimum of 50 % and for B.Ed program applicant must have passed graduation having 50%. The following exams are considered for admission to the undergraduate levels and they include HSCE, CBSE, ISCE, etc.
The University teaches several programmes in faculties including; Engineering, Law, Education, Basic Sciences and Management Studies among others Some of the well known programmes include B.Tech, MBA, MCA, MA, M.Sc and LLB.B, B.Ed. The proposed test schedules for getting into various programs of study in academic year 2024 are; MET for Engineering courses in the third week of April 2023 and LAT for law courses in the last week of May 2023. Admission procedures which are followed include passing in the entrance test conducted by VMSU and attending the counseling session. The core criteria remains as in most of the Universities, qualifying the 12th examination with 50% of marks for undergraduate programs.
