The West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences(WBUAFS) is located in Kolkata and it has multiple departments offering various undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The requirements for eligibility also differ depending on the department and program of study. For B.V.Sc. & A.H., candidates should have minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English taken together in WBCHSE or equivalent examination. For B.F.Sc., combination of 50% aggregate with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Mathematics must be cleared in the 12th exams. B.Tech. Admission to BVSc & AH program from the Department of Veterinary Medicine demands a pass in 10+2 in science with 50% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology. The WBCHSE/CBSE/ISC or any equivalent examination is acceptable for qualifying examination. The B. Tech in Dairy Technology course offered by the Dairy Technology department admits students who have to pass 10 + 2 in science with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics. The BFSc program in Fisheries Science is offered by the Department of Aquaculture and it is compulsory for students to have a 10+2 pass in any stream with subjects including Biology. The university provides many undergraduate programs in fields of Veterinary, Dairy and Fishery technology. The popular UG programs include the Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, Bachelor of Technology in Dairy Technology, and Bachelor of Fisheries Science.

The West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences, generally known as WBUAFS is situated in Kolkata and has B.Tech programs in all the departments. Dairy Technology department provides a B.Tech program of 4 years duration and student admission is done on the basis of merit in WBJEE. The candidate needs to have passed in 10+2 science examinations and the minimum percentage of marks needed are 50% for general category and 45% for SC/ST/OBC candidates. The Food Technology department also has a B.Tech program for students qualified in the WBJEE examinations; the eligibility is the same. The B.Tech streams provided at WBUAFS are Dairy Technology, Food Technology, Poultry Science, Aquaculture and Livestock Management.
