Asansol Engineering College situated at Asansol of West Bengal is one of such institutions offering a number of engineering programs in diverse fields of Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical and Civil Engineering. In different departments, the eligibility has different requirements. For Computer Science, Electronics & Electrical Engineering, passing in aggregate of 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics of any recognized board in class 12th is required. For the admission in Mechanical Engineering, the aggregate of 50% Marks in PCM along with English as compulsory subject in twelfth standard is needed. The Civil Engineering department has taken the score in JEE Mains, WBJEE, or 50% in PCM in class 12th as criterion. All the streams have admission through National level exam’s such as JEE Mains, WBJEE or state level exam for the 4-years B.Tech program. 

Computer science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil & Electronics & Telecommunications are some of the major streams that are offered. The admission into the 2024 academic session will commence in January 2024. The B.Tech four year undergraduate programs are advertised in which the aspiring candidates can apply after class 12th. There are the National level entrance exam: JEE Mains January & April 2024 and the state level exam West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination WBJEE: April 2024 every year. The student is required to pass class 12th examination with minimum 45 % marks (40% for SC/ST/OBC category) with Physics, Chemistry & Maths as compulsory subjects for admission to general category. With the help of entrance exam results and class 12th percentage, a counselling is conducted for offering the seats in each of the departments of Engineering. Asansol Engineering College is located in Asansol, West Bengal and it offers a variety of engineering courses at B.E./B.Tech and M.E./M.Tech levels. The admission for the college is available either online on the website www.asenggcollege.ac.in or through the college admission department if the students want the application form on paper. 

For online application, one has to go to the admissions tab on the website and then apply through a registration process where they are asked to fill basic details. Upon registration, , the applicant can log into the system to complete the application form and also upload his or her documentation. The application fee has to be made online by using credit/debit card/Net banking etc.

AEC Asansol B.Tech Selection Criteria

- The admission process is quite common and is normally done based on the marks acquired in the national/state level engineering entrance examinations which include JEE Main, WBJEE among others and the students are ranked.

- This is the reason that colleges then have cut-off ranks below which they are ready to admit students. The cut-offs differ collegeewise according to the demand, number of seats available, infrastructure etc. The more premier institutes will have higher cut offs.

- Certain colleges also have the extra provision of admitting students based on their 12th board exam performance particularly for state quota seats. All the cut-offs are depend upon the percentage students got in 12th standard.

1. Check the eligibility criteria: You have to stand the 10+2 examination in science stream having passed in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with at-least 50% percentage.

2. Apply online or offline:

- Online: Go to the college official website, www.aecasansol.ac.in and look for the admission application form of B.Tech. Get it filled with the essential information and then submit it.

- Offline: Buy the application form and the prospectus by paying some cash in the college office. Please complete the form, you may also need to provide some additional documentation. Take it to the office.

3. Appear for entrance test: If needed take the college/university level entrance exam like JEE Main if it is required by the specific college/university. 

4. Attend counselling session: In case the candidate gets selected for the list, he or she must follow the counselling session and take admission by paying for the admission fee.

- Applicants must have completed the 10+2 level or its equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Maths.

- There are few restriction, where admission is taken based upon merit on the qualifying examination like 10+2 Exam.

- For some of the seats, admission may be done on merit that is the score obtained by students in state/national level engineering entrance exam such as JEE Main, WBJEE etc.

- There might be cut-off marks and minimum percentage requirements for the qualifying examination that the institute sets for admission.
