MSIT is situated at New Delhi and they offer admission for engineering and technology programs in Computer Science, Electronics, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical and Biotechnology streams. The eligibility criteria are different for different departments – to be specific, for Computer Science and Engineering, a candidate possessing an average of 60% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in class 12th and valid JEE Main score is required. For other branches such as Mechanical, Electronics or Electrical Engineering the criteria are clear 12th pass with minimum 60% marks inPhysics, Chemistry & Mathematics. For admission into various B.Tech and M.Tech programs the institute considers the scores of national level examinations like JEE Main ,GATE,ucheed etc.
The institute has a variety of courses, including Undergraduate, Postgraduate and doctoral levels under the faculties of Engineering, Management, Applied Sciences & Humanities. The programmes that are offered in MSIT include B Tech in Computer Science, Electronics and Mechanical; MBA; MCA; MTech in several fields; MSIT also offers ph D programmes. It will be available online from January 2024 for admission in the session 2024-2025 on its website. The candidate has to submit an online application form and also clear JEE Main 2024, CAT 2023 or other national or state level entrance exam. The process of admission to the MSIT program is done through the merit that students obtain in these entrance tests accompanied by counseling sessions. Some of the prominent entrance exam is given below: JEE Main 2024: The JEE Main examination is likely to be conducted in the month of January 2024 CAT 2023: The CAT examination is likely to be held in the month of November 2023 GATE 2024: The GATE examination is likely to take place in the month of February 2024. The students are also encouraged to check the respective official website to confirm the correct sitting dates and other admission details.
Process for filling up of Admission Form online Read the instructions carefully before filling up the form:
- For admissions, the candiates are shortlisted based on the performance in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains. For admission in MSIT, students are required to have their JEE Mains score.
- While selecting students, board results, and the score in JEE Mains are taken into consideration, but the percentage in the 12th grade is considered to a certain extent only.
- For all its engineering programs, MSIT is associated with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University or GGSIPU for short. Consequently admissions occur after counselling and schedules released by GGSIP.
- Admission is offered to those candidates who have secured their All India Rank in JEE Mains examination and they are accommodated in several counselling sessions. Rank wise, if you are a higher ranked candidate, then you will have more options to grab a seat in the initial counseling rounds.
- As per government rules and regulation there is a provision of having a quota for the SC, ST, OBC, Kashmiri Migrant etc. and few percentage of seats are always reserved for them.
- A candidate must meet the basic requirement in terms of the educational qualification standard, age limit, etc., for one to be considered for admission.
1. Check Eligibility- You should have passed 12th class with minimum grades in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. Minimum passing percentage of 60% for the final semester and an overall 60% aggregate should be achieved.
2. Application Form- These forms are usually out in the month of May/June every year from the management and innovation of technology department. You can get the form either on the Internet or through the various offices of the service.
3. Fill The Application - Make sure to complete all the entries accurately in the way that the application form requests. It should be checked whether there are any mistakes.
4. Attach Required Documents- Enclose documents like 12th marksheet, school certificates, copy of Aadhar card etc., along with the application form.
5. Pay Application Fees- For the application fees, use the option prescribed online or through DD if required. Maintain acknowledgement of fees collection.
6. Submit Application- Return the completed application form properly endorsed together with other requirements and fees on or before the deadline at the MSIT Office.
7. Check Admission List- MSIT publishes admission merit list after elaboration of applications follows a standard procedure and is exercised as follows.
- Exceptions include the NIT Durgapur and NIT Jamshedpur where admissions are made through both JEE Main and JEE Advanced examinations. The candidates who are interested in applying for the examination should possess a valid JEE Main examination score.
- In the case of the admissions through JEE Main, category wise merit list is prepared based on the JEE Main- All India Rank (AIR) of the candidates.
- After that, the candidates qualified for the counseling process according to their rank and then lock their choices and get admission according to the seat matrix.
- In addition to the score in JEE Main, admissions are also provided through direct second year admission for Diploma holders. For this the candidate must possess a valid diploma certificate with minimum 60% marks in the qualifying exams (55% in case of SC/ST candidates).
- Some seats are also awarded on the basis of management quota. Both these may possibly have different eligibility and selection criteria as specified by the institute.
- In order to qualify for the general category the candidates must secure an aggregate of 60% marks in their 12th standard board examinations. Minimum 6 CGPA for the SC/ST category candidates and 55% of the total marks for the general category candidates.

2. Application Form- MSIT generally makes available the application forms on its official website and mostly in the period of May and June. To complete it, you will have to complete all the fields on the form and then submit it before the due date.
3. Entrance Exams- Aspirants need to clear the JEE Main exam for B. Tech admission at MSIT. Admission is provided based on the scores in the JEE Main, which is recognized by the institute.
4. Counselling - If you fulfill the JEE Main cutoff for MSIT, then you will attend the counselling session where you have to select the seat by paying for the admission fee. It depends on the merit rank of the JEE Main score which provides the seat.
5. Document Verification- The candidate has to submit all the mark sheet of 10th and 12th class, JEE score card, and other necessary documents to the institute to verify their admission.
