RKGIT Admission in Under Graduate/Post Graduate programs include engineering, management, computer applications, pharmacy, vocational courses and many more programs. RKGIT’s engineering discipline streams comprise of Computer Science Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Chemical Engineering. To qualify for B.Tech programs, the students are expected to have scored at least 60% in Physics, Chemistry, & Maths in their Class 12th Boards and JEE Mains. MBA and MCA students give national level examinations such as CAT, MAT, XAT or NIMCET as entrance examination. B.Pharma uses UPSEE, JEE Main or Class 12th PCM above 55 percentile for admissions.
RKGIT provides campus programmes like B.Tech , M.Tech , BBA , MBA , BCA , MCA , B. Pharm , M. Pharm , Diploma in Engg and other vocational courses. Some of the important national level examination held are JEE Mains January & April, GATE February, CAT November, MAT February & May, XAT January, NIMCET May etc The candidates who qualify these examinations and meet required eligibility norms are required to apply at Institute level before June. It is done by institute level written test and/or group discussion, personal interview etc Selection criteria and procedure are different across programs and branches depending on availability of seats and the overall merit of the student. The academic session starts in the middle of July and the classes commence from the third week. Pay the application fee through Internet banking or debit/credit card. Lastly, make a photocopy of the document if you need it to be used in the future.
- UPSEE score decides the cut of admission in the institute; hence all the admissions are merit-based. To be eligible for this course, candidate should have passed the 10+2 or equivalent examination with science stream with Maths, Physics, and Chemistry as compulsory subjects.
- To avail the UPSEE code, candidates are given admissions in the B.Tech programs following the rank/score in the state level entrance test, openings in the discipline and the program criteria.
- In some cases, there are factors that may include minimum marks scored in 10+2 exams and so on depending on the particular program specialisations or categories.
- Apart from UPSEE some of the seats are reserved on the basis of JEE Mains rank / score. Admissions in the university are based on the JEE Mains scores of students, though they are also subject to the availability of seats in the concerned programs.
- There could also be management/institute level seats, which means RKGIT may have its own standards for admitting students like the marks one got in 10+2 exam, their performance in entrance test etc.
- It also means that for the reserved category candidate, the institute also lays down minimum qualifying standards to be met before one can be considered for admissions.
1. Apply Online: To get the admission for B.Tech, go through the college website www.rkgit.edu.in and check out for the admission or online application link. Go and register online using your details such as educational background, phone numbers, etc on the application form.
2. Application Fees Payment: For the application, fees should be paid online or through demand draft. For the application one has to pay about Rs 1000 as an application fees.
3. Documents Upload: The rest of the documents in the form of scanned copies of your 10th and 12th mark sheets, photographs etc. as needed will also be uploaded.
4. Entrance Exams: Sit for engineering entrance tests such as UPSEE, JEE Mains etc For B.Tech admissions, RKGIT accepts students who have prepared for these exams.
5. Counselling: If you are among those who will be selected for offers, you will be required to sit for counselling rounds. Go for counseling as per the scheduled dates and choose your stream and pay the admission fee.
- The selection of students is purely merit-based, which means that admission is granted depending on the score that the candidate has obtained in the UPSEE exam. As per B.Tech admission criteria, the candidates are required to first clear UPSEE.
- Regarding admissions, the RKGIT has a particular ranking in the UPSEE that the candidates have to attain. These rank cutoffs may also vary for different categories as general, OBC SC etc. They also may vary from year to year based on factors like number of applicants, number of seats etc.
- Nevertheless, candidates also need to meet other requirements to apply for admission to the institution besides the UPSEE scores. This includes requirements such as a minimum score in the 12th exams (45% for gen category students) and the streams in 12th (likes physics, chemistry, maths).
- Regarding the availability of seats, these are offered according to the students’ rank in UPSEE and through counseling. The counseling and seat allotment is done through the Directorate of Technical Education, Uttar Pradesh, also known as Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University, Uttar Pradesh.
- Since the counseling is done in accordance to the candidate’s rank obtained in the UPSEE examination, the candidates are required to select their preferred branch and college. Seating charts are then assigned depending on rank, filled choices and number of empty seats.

3. Here will be the online application form, you will see the ‘Apply Now’ button to apply online for the course.
4. Enter your personal details, academic details, address details, any other details as may be asked in the application form.
5. Upload scanned images of photograph, signature and other documents as mandatory things like class 10 and 12 mark sheets etc.
6. Pay the application fee online ( The application fees is set to Rs. 1200 for the general category).
7. Before submitting the completed application, make sure to scrutinize all the details that are being provided.
8. After the completion of the form the candidate should download and take a print out of the same for future use where the application number is filled in.
9. Wait for the college to make an announcement regarding the merit lists. If you managed to clear the cut-off mark, then you will be invited for counseling.
10. Ensure that one goes for the counseling session as agreed on the time that has been provided
