The BA in tourism studies is an undergraduate program that takes a duration of three years and gives students knowledge on the tourism and hospitality industries. The degree includes courses such as tourism principles and practices, sustainability in tourism, destination marketing and management, hotel operational control, event management, tourism legal and moral issues, etc. Some of the areas of study that students find themselves learning include policy analysis and regulation of tourism, management of tourism organizations and enterprises, tourism marketing and promotion, and festivals and events management. The program features internships to ensure practical experience in the industry. The curriculum prepares the graduates for jobs such as tourism officers, tour planners, airline customer service agents, travel consultants, event organizers, and tourism businesspersons.
The admission tests that are considered for the giving admission to the BA (Tourism Studies) program are – higher secondary marks (10+2 or equivalent), SAT, ACT, PUMAT, CET and NEET UG. Some universities may also administer their own qualifying entrance examination. It is mandatory to have strong grades in high school and acceptable marks in relevant entrance exams to get into the universities for the BA Tourism Studies program.

1. The candidate must have passed 10+2 from any stream recognized by any board of education with minimum 50% aggregate.
2. There are no restrictions for the students belonging to arts, science or commerce stream. No age limit.
3. English should be one of the subjects in 10+2 level.
4. The regular and the backlog candidates who passed their 10+2 examination can also apply for admission in the university provisionally.
5. There are some colleges that give their own examinations to the students before admitting them.
