Production Engineering is a 4-year full-time undergraduate engineering program commonly known as Bachelor of Engineering (BE) under which students are trained in the design, development, implementation and management of integrated production systems. The program includes areas like industrial engineering, quality assurance, manufacturing systems, computer aided manufacturing, operations research, and quality control. The BE Production Engineering program normally takes four years or eight semesters of class work and industrial training.
The following national level engineering entrance exams are accepted for enrollment into the BE Production Engineering program: JEE Main, JEE Advanced, UPSEE, WBJEE, AP EAMCET, VITEEE, and other state level tests. Any candidate who meets the eligibility criteria based on any of these exams can apply for the program in reputed engineering institutes and universities in India. Minimum aggregate percentage in Class 12 along with Physics, Chemistry and Math are also needed to get into the course.
