B.Sc. Astrophysics is a three-year undergraduate program that concentrates on astrophysics, which is the branch of physics involved in the study of astronomy. Some of the areas covered by the curriculum include celestial mechanics, interstellar medium, galactic structure, observational astronomy, relativity, cosmology. The subjects cover topics such as the physical properties of objects in space and many other occurrences. Astrophysics is offered as theoretical studies and also learning by doing through observation, analysis and research during practical training.
The following are the most widely recognized entrance tests that can be used in the admissions process into B.Sc. Astrophysics program are: JEE Main & Advanced, NEET, Common Entrance Tests conducted by different states, BITSAT conducted by Birla Institute of Technology and Science Pilani. There is competition on the basis of 12th grade marks which many colleges also use to admit students.

1. Candidate Must have passed 10+2 examination in Science stream with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics as main subjects from any recognized Central/State Board.
2. Minimum passing standards for group of subjects 60% or equivalent CGPA in 10+2 pattern of education.

4. Scheduled caste/scheduled tribe candidates may get 5% relaxation in the prescribed cutoff marks in 10+2.
