Biostatistics is an undergraduate degree also known as Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) that aims to equip the students with training in statistical methods used in biological, medical and health sciences research. This is actually a full time three year course where various topics such as probability, statistical inference, clinical trials, epidemiology, survival analysis, categorical data analysis are taught using statistical programming software. Students build up mastery of numeracy skills for tabulating, consolidating, analyzing and interpreting numerical data from health, clinical and biological research

The following entrance exams were accepted for direct admission to the B.Sc. Biostatistics program are: competitor exams such as national/state level exams including JEE Main, GATE or university or institute level exams. A few more colleges also take into account PCM scores of the class 12th for admission into their institutions. Minimum eligibility required to apply for these post is the candidates must have passed The Class 12th examination with minimum 50% aggregate marks (45% for reserved category) with Mathematics as a compulsory subject from a recognized state or Central Education Board in India.

BSc Biostatistics Course Eligibility 2024

2. Some of the colleges require mathematics as one of the subjects in 10+2 for biostatistics purposes. 

3. Sound and thorough knowledge of analytical as well as quantitative abilities that will go along with logical thinking skills.

4. Candidates who want to apply for this course must have Statistics as one of the subjects in their graduation. 

5. Opportunities in this stream are open to those who completed their studies in Mathematics, Statistics, Life sciences, Pharmacy or Medicine.

6. They should have secured at least 50% to 60% in their graduation and the standards vary from one institute to another.
