B.Sc. Information Technology is an undergraduate course which aims to equip students with knowledge and skills in areas such as software engineering, computer networking and communications, databases, web technologies and data analytics. The duration of the B.Sc. program is four academic years where the first 3 years consists of the school sessions and each of the school session is divided into two semesters with a total of six semesters. Information Technology course is of 3 years with six semesters. The subjects covered in the curriculum are programming languages Java, Python, OS, computer architecture, data structures and Algorithms, DBMS, computer Networks, web technologies, mobile computing, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and mathematics and soft skill development.
The entrance exams accepted for admission to the B.Sc Information Technology course by various colleges and universities are: JEE Main Paper 1, WBJEE, CUCET, Odisha JEE, UPSEE, AP EAMCET, Mumbai University CET, BITSAT, Manipal UGET, VITEEE and many more institutes provides direct admission through their 12th standard percentage. For getting admission in top NITs and IITs candidates have to take JEE Main Paper 1 examination and the candidates have to secure the required percentile.

1. A candidate must have passed 10+2 examination in any stream preferably science, commerce or arts with at least 50% marks from any recognized board.
2. Maths is mandatory in 10+2 for some universities while for other maths/computer science/statistics/business maths are required.
3. There are no set age boundaries for this type of learning. Applicants of all sorts, be it the fresher or students who have a gap year, can apply.
