M.Sc. Life Sciences is a postgraduate programme concerning various branches of biological science including biochemistry, microbiology genetics, molecular biology, biotechnology. It takes two academic years to complete the course M.Sc. Duration of the Life Sciences course is two years which include four semesters. Some institutes also provide integrated M.Sc. in 5 years duration also through integrated courses having the same curriculum as mentioned programs after 12th standard.
The main entrance exams accepted for admission to M.Sc. are the entrance examinations conducted by universities. Some of the entrance exams for Life Sciences across the colleges in India are CSIR NET, GATE (Life Sciences), ICMR JRF, TIFR GS, JAM, JNUEE, BHU PET. While some institutes like IISc, IISER also conduct their own tests.

1. Any graduate with a Bachelors degree in Science/Arts/Commerce/ with minimum 50% marks in any stream from a recognized University.
