M.Phil. The Master of Science in Psychology or Master of Philosophy in Psychology is a postgraduate level course that is generally of two years’ duration. It entails postgraduate education and scholarly endeavour in the sub-discipline of psychology. The program is designed to ensure that the students gain adequate knowledge on the theories of psychology, research methods, and the application of psychology in different fields. Students are equipped to evaluate and understand psychological ideas, formulate and implement research proposals, gather and interpret data, scrutinize literature and compose a thesis.
The UGC NET Psychology, UGC JRF Psychology, CSIR UGC NET, TISSNET, BHU PET, JNUEE, NIMHANS Entrance Test, etc are the common entrance exams accepted for admission to M.Phil Psychology programs Most of the institutes also accept scores obtained in CAT, GATE, GRE or offer admission based on the performance in the qualifying degree and interview. The minimum eligibility is post graduation in Psychology (55% marks).
