Some of the major common entrance tests are TANCET for ME/MTech/MBA/MCA and TNEA for engineering UG courses conducted by TN Government. 1. Identify which institutions offer B.Tech courses in the relevant areas of your concern. Some of the options available for pursuing Engineering courses are Anna University, SRM University, Amrita University, VIT University, etc.

2. Look for the colleges and universities you are interested in and verify the conditions required to sit for the exam, the marks required, age limit etc.

3. Engineering most often requires one to sit for the entrance tests such as JEE Main/Advanced, VITEEE, SRMJEEE among others. For the relevant test/s, apply and make sure that you meet the set application deadlines.

- Application Process: The applications for the MBA admission at Anna University are often during the month of March – May mostly for the next academic year. The exact times are released by the university through their website or other media platforms.

- Eligibility: An applicant must possess a Bachelor’s Degree and must have secured minimum 50% aggregate marks to be considered for admission. Remedies like reservation and relaxations on marks are allowed according to the rules and regulation of government.

- Entrance Exams: Tamil Nadu’s Anna University uses the results of tests including TANCET (Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test) and CAT for selecting candidates for MBA programmes. 

- Selection Process: To be selected for a particular course or program, the shortlisted candidates have to face personal interview and/or group discussion round that is organized by the university. The final decision and allocation of specializations are made depending on the merit list and choices of candidates along with the availability of seats.

- Number of Seats: The actual sum total of MBA seats across the several affiliated institutes and campuses of Anna University is not fixed and changes every year based on the approvals. 

AU Chennai MBA Selection Criteria

1. Qualifying Exam: The candidate should have completed a bachelor’s degree with not less than fifty percent marks (for SC/ ST/ OBC (non creamy layer) candidates – fortyfive percent) in the Anna University or any other university recognized as equivalent thereto.

2. Entrance Test: The candidates have to sit for TANCET, which is organized by Anna University and pass the test to secure the minimum passing marks.

3. Group Discussion & Personal Interview: Candidates who qualify for the next round are those who obtain a total TANCET score and are then subjected to group discussion and personal interview. Well, the GD/PI does play an important role in final selection and the weightage of this round is also present. 

4. Final Merit List: For the selection of candidates, TANCET written exam, group discussion and the personal interview are conducted by the college and the final merit list is prepared in the rank order. Depending on the number of seats available, candidates who perform best in the exams are provided with provisional admission.

5. Reservation Policy: There is a Tamil Nadu state domicile reservation policy in place and that is valid for different categories with 69% of the seats filled.

AU Chennai MBA How To Apply?

1. Go to the university website or the advertisement that is available in the newspapers for the MBA admission notice and the application. The application is often released in May/June each year.

2. Select the area of specialization of the MBA you would like to apply to such as general MBA, MBA in Systems, MBA in Software Enterprise Management etc.

3. Register Online/Offline for the application form of Anna University. For the registration, uploaded scanned copies of the necessary academic documents should be provided.

4. Pay the application fee either through online mode or demand draft. The fee for the service is normally roughly about 500 rupees. 

5. Return the application form and documents to the admissions office before the deadline for application indicated in the application requirements. This is normally in the last week of June or first week of July. Documents include: A marksheet of the course, degree certificate, community certificate, experience certificate etc.

AU Chennai Ph.D Admission 2024

- As stated earlier, the applications are usually advertised in May/June for admission in the coming academic year. Just be sure to visit the official webpage of Anna University to know the specific dates.

- For admission, a Master’s degree in the relevant stream with minimum of 55% marks (50% in case of reserve category) is the basic eligibility.

- Entrance examination is conducted by the university and is usually in July/August in the course of selecting candidates. Personal interviews come next in the list of effective practices.

- The selected candidates then join the university and do their course work for about one to two semesters then join their PhD research.

- There are different admission options for PhD where students can apply for different programs in Engineering, IT, Science and Humanities & Management streams.

AU Chennai Ph.D Selection Criteria

- Applicants must have a Master’s degree in the subject of their specialization with minimum 55% marks/equivalent CGPA.

- Any candidate willing to study at the university must meet the requirements of an entrance test. It tests research and subject-specific areas, and the type of questions can range from multiple choice to written answers.

- Applicants who made it through the examination held at the entrance are interviewed. The interview questions cover issues concerning the candidate’s research interests, areas of specialization, communication skills etc.

- Entrance test and interview play an important role in the selection process, however, academic record of the candidate and prior research experience, if any, also count at the final stage.

- For reserved category students, it is allowable to get 5% less than the required percentage in the qualifying exam.

- Thus, the candidates who have qualified UGC/CSIR-NET, GATE or similar other national level tests are preferred/considered during the selection process.

AU Chennai Ph.D How To Apply?

1. Keep checking the university’s website or the university notifications for any PhD admission updates. The facts are that the advertisements are also usually published in the national newspapers as well.

2. As for the entry requirements for PhDs, there will be an entry examination that will be thrown into practice. Please register and sit for the exam as postulated by the dates that have been set. Full time admission and part time admission (for registered students of the University) have separate examinations for Ph.D.

3. Again after the entrance test you will be interviewed depending on the result you have obtained in the test. Take a lot of care so as to ensure that you perform well during the interview since it is part of the selection process. 

4. If selected, you will be provisionally registered for the PhD program as a full-time, Blended or Distance Learning student. There are certain courses/assignments that the students are required to fulfill before submitting their assessments on time.

5. Writing a research proposal to Anna University, but under a supervisor from the list of approved supervisors at the university. After this, the proposal should be defended in front of a doctoral committee and get the approval of the committee members.

6. It involves research work, data collection, and data analysis in accordance with the proposed method. Always continue submitting status updates to the research supervisor/committee on a regular basis.

7. After the research work, the work should be summarized in the PhD thesis synopsis and then it should be approved. It is common to get some changes from the committee after the thesis has been defended; submit copies of the final thesis with the changes. 

8. Last but not least, submit the research for a viva voce examination by an external examiner and the research committee to be awarded a PhD degree. Revise the thesis if necessary and submit it to the committee for approval again.
