Annamalai University in Chidambaram is one of the premier institutes of the state, which offers several programs in various fields of engineering, medicine, sciences, arts, education, and several others. Regarding its eligibility, it differs within the departments and the course as well. For engineering courses such as civil, mechanical, electrical and electronics, civil engineering, computer science and engineering, electronics and telecommunication engineering, the requirement is that the candidate must have cleared 12th standard with mathematics, physics and chemistry. MBBS and BDS are medical courses and hence, the student needs to score 50% in physics, chemistry and biology in 12th standard. For B.Sc. courses in maths, physics, chemistry, botany, zoology, the pass requirement to qualify for an admission in this school is passing 12th standard in science stream. M.Sc. in these subjects can be done with the help of having B.Sc. degree in relevant subject. For other arts and humanities’ courses such as economics, English, history, political science, sociology, and so on, the person needs to pass 12th standard in any group. Education courses like B.Ed. require diploma and passing test results such as CTET/TET and other similar standardized tests. The university accepts examination scores of various tests such as JEE Main, NEET, GATE, TANCET, etc, depending on the course.
The university offers courses across disciplines like engineering, medicine, sciences, education, arts, law, agriculture, yoga etc. Important dates for 2024 admission are: Registration starts from 1st April, 2023. Entrance tests between June and July 2023, Counselling from August, 2023 onwards. 1. The Candidates should have passed 10+2 or its equivalent examination with the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/ Biology/Computer Science from any recognized Central/State Board.
2. Candidates who aspire to secure a general admission in B.Sc should have at least a 50% aggregate in their 10+2 level exam (45% for reserved category candidates).
3. For B.Sc Honours subjects, candidates should have obtained minimum 60% in aggregate in 10+2 examination for General Category and 55% for the SC/ST/OBC/PH Category.
4. Students are admitted based on their results in the qualifying examination as provided by the admitted school.
5. The norms and regulation of the Government of India regarding the reservation of seats has been duly implemented.
6. As per the eligibility criteria of the candidates, they are admitted to the counseling session, where a candidate is provisionally selected as per merit, choices, and seat availability.
7. The final decision regarding admission of the students is made after verification of their documents.
8. If the candidates’ marks are the same, the one older in age is offered the job.
1. To better understand the requirements to enrol in the B.Sc program at Annamalai University, it is important to look at the following aspects. It is mandatory that you have passed 12th grade in science stream and possess minimum percentage of marks.

2. The candidate should have passed the Karnataka/Indian/Any other State CET Common Entrance Test. This is means that the candidate with higher score has higher probability of being selected.
3. The last stage is the Interviews and Personal Interaction (PI) with candidates. Attending interviews and performing in PIs has implications on selection prospects.

5. Ranking scored in National Level examination like JEE Mains, KCET etc., Better rankings in these exams are preferred.
6. Score obtained by a student in his 10th Standard board examinations. Good scores indicate that the students have a smooth academic experience.
7. They work in community/social service activities. As stated above, it is considered as positive when someone takes an active role and takes the lead.
8. The professional skills and personal attributes assessed during the PI system, particularly in terms of communication skills. It is preferred that the articulation candidates should have a good aptitude level.
