To assist students in getting admission to their desired programs, Aryabhatta Knowledge University (AKU) Patna has laid down courses offered across diverse fields under arts, science, commerce, engineering, and education streams. Some of the common courses offered in AKU include B.Tech, BCA, BBA, BA, BSc, B.Com, MA, MSc, M.Com, MBA and others. To get admission into B.Tech stream, the candidates should score the minimum 50% marks in their 12th exams with Physics, Chemistry, and Maths as their subjects from a recognized board. They can apply through state Level Entrance exam like BCECE, JEECUP etc. For BCA, aspirants must have cleared 12th in any stream with mathematics as a subject with 50% marks. Admission to BA degree course requires pass in XII standard from any stream with minimum 45% marks from any recognized board. The degree admission forms can be used by students who want to apply for a place in BA course. 

The various courses offered by AKU for admission in the 2024 academic year as per the course code and different departments include B.Tech, BCA, M.Tech, MCA, MBA, BBA, BA and B.Ed. Some of the key entrance tests are - BCECE-Lateral for admission to B.E/ B.Tech 2nd year is scheduled to be held in June 2023, CUET for UG courses in January 2024, MET for MBA course in March 2024, while others like that for M.Tech and MCA will be conducted in May-June 2024. There are steps that are followed in the process of the application and these begin 3- 4 months before the examination dates. The specific requirements may differ depending on the department and the courses offered. In order to apply, the students have to complete the university admission forms either on the physical forms or through online process via the AKU admission website as mentioned there.


AKU Patna Application Process 2024

The admission procedure of Aryabhatta Knowledge University (AKU) Patna is same for both undergraduate and postgraduate programs, which is available in online as well as offline mode.

To apply online, one has to go to the university official website at akubihar.ac.in then on the navigation bar select ‘Admission’. Chose the course of your choice and follow the guidelines outlined below to complete an online application form. Scan and upload photographs, signatures as needed, along with other documents such as educational certificates, etc. as per prescribed size. In the case of the application fee, please pay the same using online banking/UPI. At this point one must download and take a print out of the completed form for future use. 

On the other hand, physical applications should be made at the university administrative block to get the admission form together with the university prospectus. Complete the details in clear and legible handwriting, and provide all the necessary information and enclose attested copies of the documents. Enclose the application fee, which should be submitted in the form of a demand draft, with the filled-in application form and send it to the office mentioned below on or before the prescribed date. Applicants sending their applications via post should ensure that they submit it to the university before the stated deadline. It is always advisable to keep the acknowledgement slip secure and intact.

The following documents are then demanded from the students seeking admission in Aryabhatta Knowledge University Patna. These documents include; Identity card like Aadhaar card, Voter ID, or even passport. Candidates have to also attach their 10th and 12th class mark sheets and their passing certificates with the application. A graduate should furnish the mark sheets and certificate, which they received for their bachelor’s degree. Also, for those belonging to reserved categories, certificates in support of their caste has to be submitted. Any other testimonial like sports certificate, NCC certificate etc. Should also be affixed. Affidavit and other documents should be self attested. The originals of the documents required for admission should be produced for scrutiny during admission. Any application not accompanied by the necessary documents will be rejected irrespective of the reason for omission of documents.   • The same User ID & Password will be sent to the candidate's registered Email ID for future reference.

AKU Patna MBA Admission 2024

- MBA entrance exam is held by the university for the admissions to be made in its B-schools affiliated across the country. The test is commonly referred to as the PUMBA exam, which stands for Patna University Management Entrance Test.

- PUMBA notification is generally out in the months of March and April and the exam takes place in the month of May and June. 

- In June-July after the examinations that are conducted by PUMBA, students undertake counseling sessions where they are placed in different B-schools based on the choices and the rankings they receive.

- The following is the list of some of the MBA colleges that are affiliated to AKU Patna and are known to accept the PUMBA score for admissions include the BIT Mesra Patna Campus, the Patna Women’s College, the AN College and the Patna College.

- In addition to PUMBA exam, other colleges such as IIM Bodh Gaya, IES Management College also have their own written test before they admit candidates to MBA. 

- The total MBA course fee charges vary from ?50000 to ? 3 lakhs depending on the colleges or universities. There are various specializations that colleges provide such as Marketing, Finance and Accounting, Human Resources, IT & Systems, etc.

AKU Patna MBA Selection Criteria

- It follows a standard admission procedure where the candidates are selected through a merit list based on the CAT or MAT scores and then group discussion and personal interview.

- Candidates for group discussion and interviews are selected after a performance on the entrance tests. AKU may set cut-off scores and use them in shortlisting.

- These are some of the areas where features such as communication skills, general knowledge, number skills or ability, leadership traits etc are tested during group discussions and interviews. 

- The final list is prepared on the candidate’s performance in the entrance exam for which weightage given is normally 70-80% while the weightage given to the group discussion and interview is normally 20-30%. 

- Concessions in fee and admissions to the reserved categories of students such as SC/ST/OBC are as per the government of Bihar norms.

- The qualification of the candidates may also be considered in the selection process depending on the specific work experience, academic background, as well as any other achievements.

AKU Patna MBA How To Apply?

1. The guidelines as to when MBA admission will be conducted is usually communicated through the University website or through advertisements. Cat owners usually administer this to their cats but it is usually released around March-April.

2. When the application notice is announced, you may apply online or download the MBA application form from the respective university. You may be able to purchase it at the campus store or else you may download it from the campus official website.

3. There is an application form which must be filled properly and aptitudes such as personal information, grades, etc. 

4. Some of the documents that are usually attached with the admission application form includes; copies of previous mark sheets, certificates and photos, etc. These are usually detailed in the admission notification.

5. In case of any application fees, then pay it, either online or by a demand draft. Please attach the receipt of the fees with this form.

6. Ensure the MBA applications form is filled, completed and submitted either online through the admission portal or in person to the right campus or department. Meet the application deadline.  

7. Go for MBA entrance examination if conducted by the university/department like MAT/CMAT etc. 

8. In case your application gets shortlisted then you need to attend the Group Discussion and / or Personal Interview as the case may be.

9. For offered courses, check the admission merit lists when released and complete the admission procedures in case one is lucky to be selected. There are some papers to be produced, and there are application fees to be paid.
