Undergraduate and postgraduate programs in various disciplines such as Arts, Social Science, Commerce, Management, Education, Computer Applications, etc are offered in the Directorate of Distance Education at the University of Kashmir, Srinagar Minimum admission requirements may vary from course to course. For BA program, it is mandatory to have passed the 10+2 examinations. For the BCom program it is mandatory to pass the 10+2 examination with minimum 45% marks. BA Education and BLibSc programs requires graduation in the relevant discipline with minimum 45-50% marks as per the category of the candidate. MA English accepts graduation with minimum 45% marks. One needs to possess a bachelor’s degree with minimum of 50% marks to be eligible for MBA program. It is given according to the qualifying examinations like 10+2, bachelor’s or master’s degree from any recognized board/university as per the course offered.
The University teaches many courses and programs in streams such as Arts, Social Sciences, Science, Commerce, Management, Computer Application, Library Science, Education, etc through distance mode. The admission process begins in the month of June every year by placing advertisements in the newspapers and the University website. The likely exam periods are June for odd semesters and December for even semesters. Only serious candidates have to apply through online or by filling the application form before the last date available in advertisement. Application forms can also be requested from the University website or from other centers as may be dictated by the University. Graduates and postgraduates have to take an entrance exam or submit the marks of the qualifying degree. The candidates shall be selected on merit. The final admission list is released by the end of July. Assignments, sample papers, study material, previous year papers can be downloaded online or from study centers, if any.
Process for filling up of Admission Form online Read the instructions carefully before filling up the form:
1. Academic Merit: The candidates are then chosen depending on how they performed in the qualifying examination. This includes the marks/percentage they have scored in their graduation.
2. Entrance Test: Some universities/colleges may require the candidate to sit for an entrance examination set by the university. This test result is used in decision-making for the selection of their performance.
3. Interview Performance: Candidates who make the final list are interviewed and their academic preferences, extra curricular activities, verbal ability etc are assessed.
4. Reservation Policy: The seats are kept for the candidates coming under the reserved categories as per the norms of the government of Jammu and Kashmir. This includes SC, ST, OBC etc.
5. Additional Weightage Factors: Additional weightage may be given to qualifying candidates based on their educational qualifications, achievements in sports/cultural events, widow/dependents of defence personnel etc while preparing the merit list.

2. Download the application form from the website of the university or get it directly from the university where the course is to be pursued. Ensure you also read through the eligibility criteria before you start applying.
3. Complete the application form with all the necessary information such as the personal information, contact information, qualification information, etc. Also, ensure that you select the preferred study center when applying.
4. Enclose photocopies of 10th and 12th mark sheets, graduation mark sheets, category/domicile certificate if applicable, experience certificate if required etc.
5. The application fees should also be paid online or through a demand draft and the receipts should be retained.
6. Complete and send the application form with documents and fees before the deadline to the collection centers or university.
7. It is also advisable that one should retain a copy of the submitted application form for future use. Visit the website frequently for admit card, examination details or interview, if any.

2. Go to the webpage that you got from the above steps and click on the ‘New Registration’ link which you can find under ‘Online Admission’. In the next page, enter the necessary information to open an account.
3. Go to the login page and enter your account details and choose the course – Post Graduate Diploma in Web Designing. Complete the application form on the Homepage.
4. Upload scanned copies of required documents such as qualifications, photos etc. in accordance with the regulations.
5. Pay the application fee online through net banking/debit card/credit card or download the challan for the offline payment.
