IIT Gandhinagar is at Gandhinagar, Gujarat, which includes the course in Engineering, Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences at UG, PG and Ph.D. level. Each of them has own conditions required to consider an applicant as eligible. For admission in to the BTech program like Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering and Mechanical Engineering one must have passed 10+2 examination with physics, chemistry & mathematics subjects with at least 75% marks for GEN/OBC category and 65% marks for SC/ST category. This university accepts JEE Advanced, JEE Main and SAT as the entrance exams for admitting students. For MSc specialisations including Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics and other related fields, candidates must have completed the relevant bachelor’s degree with aggregate percentage varying for course, discipline and category.

This means that the candidates clearing exams such as GATE/NET/JEST or any other equivalent national level exams will be considered for the qualification test. Certain particular departments provide extra tests such as ICMR to the students or UGC-CSIR NET.
