IIM Visakhapatnam is among the premier management institutes in India for postgraduate management programmes in a plethora of disciplines. The main programs are: Post Graduate Program (PGP) in Management for which the duration is two years, full time; Post Graduate Program in Management for the managers already in workplace (PGPEX); Fellow Program in Management (FPM); and few other short term management development programs.
For PGP the eligibilities includes minimum percentage of 50% in Bachelor’s degree or equivalent CGPA, valid CAT/GMAT/GRE score, and work experience. The PGPEX program is intended for the candidates who after their graduation have worked a minimum of five years before joining the program. The FPM is a full time course of study equivalent to Ph.D that is offered for candidates who have passed their master’s degree examination and possess a valid CAT/GMAT/GATE/UGC-NET score. Up till now, we have been discussing the acceptance of valid scores of CAT IIM Visakhapatnam also accepts GMAT and GRE scores for its programs.
Process for filling up of Admission Form online Read the instructions carefully before filling up the form:
1. Photo identity proof – Aadhaar/ PAN/ Driving license/ Passport for identification and date of birth proof.
2. Marksheets of ten and above like SSC, intermediate, graduation or post graduation confirming your education.
3. Recommendation letters from previous employers summarizing employment history, positions held, responsibilities and accomplishments if any prior work experience is available.
4. A valid score card of GMAT/GRE which will ensure that you have written one of the tests that candidates are required to write before being considered for MBA.
5. List of personal and academic essays, statement of purpose, letters of recommendation, showcasing personal interests, goals, achievements and potential in MBA.
6. Evidence in the form of bank statements that may show you have sufficient funds to cater for fees and other incidental expenses for the 2-year full time MBA program at IIM Visakhapatnam.
1. Take CAT/GMAT entrance tests for IIM Visakhapatnam to get through its PG diploma courses like PGP, PGDM, You can apply online or offline for entrance tests.
2. Candidates are required to take the writing ability test followed by a personal interview & group discussion at IIM Visakhapatnam over two-three days.
3. Candidate ranking is done according to their scores in entrance test along with previous academic performance, experience details and performance in selection procedure.
4. To compete for UG admission in BBA program, one can appear for state or national level entrance examination such as AP EAMCET , JEE Main etc.
5. After shortlisting the candidates who applied for the UG course, candidates go through personal interviews and group discussions conducted by IIM Visakhapatnam.
6. The last seats in under graduate courses are offered on the basis of entrance examination, marks obtained in class XII board examination and the selection procedure.
1. CAT/GMAT examination – There are cutoffs which need to be cleared in CAT or GMAT examinations that are a measure of aptitude in terms of quantitative, verbal & analytical ability.
2. Apply online - Complete the online application along with the fields as academics, work experience, co-curricular etc. preferably before the deadline.
3. Interview – After the completion of written test and meeting the diversity criterion the shortlisted candidates are called for the final interview round which is conducted by a panel.
4. Certification Clearance – Submission of all documents required for certification in respect to academic, work certificates after clearance in interviews.
5. Open in new tab Final admission list – IIM Visakhapatnam prepares the final list of selected candidates under the categories of performance in the examination, interview, academic performance and work experience.
6. Remit fee to secure the admission offer – Candidates remit fee as per the Offer Letter for MBA admission in IIM Visakhapatnam.

1. Academic Qualifications – The candidate should be a postgraduate in a relevant field with at least 55% marks in his/her postgraduate degree accompanied by a valid test scores in CAT/GRE/GMAT/GATE/JRF.
2. Simply fill in the form online or fax the completed application form before the deadline together with your transcripts, test scores, research proposal among other documents.
3. The candidates short-listed for the test and interview will be intimated via mail for written test and interview to be held at IIM Visakhapatnam or online.
4. Personal interview mainly includes their research interests, ability and their knowledge about the subjects of the candidates.
5. Admission offers decided depending on results of tests that candidate undertook, academic achievements, interview and number of positions vacant.
6. Every candidate admitted is supposed to produce certificated documents, pay certain fees and get registered within specified time to allow the admission.
7. Beginning of a course/program, research work towards submitting a thesis after the expected duration for the Ph.D degree.

1. Prospective students are advised to apply for admission on the IIMV website through the admission tab/s on the home page and make their application fee payments online.
2. Academics, work experience, and GMAT scores can be written in the application form along with the other required details.
3. Upload items such as the transcript, test scores, recommendation letters, and other documents that may be required.
4. Hand in written essays where needed on given topics within the stipulated wordage.
5. Make sure that the final completed application is submitted to the respective offices before the deadline stated above.
6. If shortlisted, you must attend for a personal interview at specific date and time given by the IIMV admission committee.
7. IIMV’s final admission decision to come within the notified date.
