Chapra Jai Prakash University is one of the largest universities in Bihar offering courses in various fields such as Arts, Science, Commerce, Law, Education etc. Some of the major departments are BA, BSc, BCom, BCA, BBA, LLB, BEd etc. For admission to BA, the requirement is 12th pass with minimum 50% aggregate from any reputed board. Applicants who have passed exams, such as CBSE, ICSE or State Boards, are welcome to apply. For BSc students should have passed 12th Science stream with Physics Chemistry Mathematics with minimum of 60% from any recognized board. It is essential to score 50% in 12th Commerce stream in order to be eligible for BCom. The CAT/MAT/CMAT/XAT/ATMA scores are mandatory to pursue MBA admission. Likewise, for admission into LLB, LSAT score is essential and for BEd programs in Jai Prakash University TET/CTET scores are required.
The University provides a wide range of courses such as BA in English, Economics, History, among others; BSc in Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Botany and others. Some other courses that are much in demand include BCom, BBA, BCA, LLB, BEd etc. The admission process for the 2024 academic year will commence in May 2023. The university entrance test is usually held in the first week of June. The class wise selected students have to come for a personal interview in the third week of June. They declared that final merit list will be out in the 1 week of July.
