The university offeres a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate courses across faculties of medical, dental, engineering, management, pharmacy etc The requirements may differ from program to program. For MBBS program, the candidate must have completed their 12th standard examination with the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology with minimum 50% average marks as a prerequisite requirement. Karnataka Common Entrance Test and National Eligibility cum Entrance Test are acknowledged entrance tests. The BDS program also offers an admission to the candidates on the 12th grade score and other exams such as NEET, KCET.
University level B.Tech programs in Specializations such as computer science engineering, information technology, electronics and communications take students who have passed 12th grade with physics, maths and chemistry/computer science/biology. Minimum aggregate required is 45-50% based on the category of the course. Only the scores of the KCET, COMEDK are considered valid for admission to the B.Tech course.

The documents required at the time of application and counseling are as follows:
- The candidate must have passed their 10+2 exams recognized by the central government or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and/or Biology as main subjects.
- Admissions are merit-based, based on an Index made of the percentage obtained in the qualifying examination (10+2). Performance on other public exams such as CET may also be taken into consideration in the weightage.
- It is important to understand that for some undergraduate programs, there are other requirements that may include aptitude tests, interviews, etc.
- The seat intake for SC/ST/OBC(NCL) etc. categories is also done according to the government policies.
1. Go through the NITTE website where on the home page, there is a tab called admission, we have to tap on it and then select the preferred B.Sc program.
2. Develop login ID for getting online form, fill particulars if necessary
3. Lastly, scan and upload your documents which include 10th/12th standard marksheets, photos and signature.

5. Fill in the form, then submit it and take a photocopy for further use

- The admission of students to M.Sc programs is therefore obtained based on their performance in the examination that they used to gain admission into the university. For most programs, this is a bachelor’s degree in the relevant field to help them qualify for the position.
- There might also be an entrance test for specific programs which will be administered by NITTE. The type of entrance test and the weightage given to it as compared to the qualifying examination is different in each department.
- Depending on the course and the requirements of the institution there could be some formal tests that include personal interviews or group discussions apart form the academic performance while applying for certain M.Sc programs.
- They may have some form of quota system where a certain percent of the candidates to be admitted must be from the reserved classes in accordance with the government policy.
