Oriental University, Indore is a good private University that offers programs at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels in faculties of Engineering & Technology, Management & Commerce, Law, Pharmacy, Science, Education, Arts & Commerce. The requirement of qualification also differs from department to department: For the B. Tech. Programs, the candidate must have passed the 12th or equivalent examination with main subjects being Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics with a minimum 50% marks in aggregate for the Gen/OBC category candidates and 45% for SC/ST/PwD category candidates. Valid exams include JEE Mains, MHTCET and Indore Common Entrance Test (ICET). For MBA, candidates must have a Three years bachelor’s degree with 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC candidates) and MAT/ CAT /XAT/ CMAT/ ATMA are the standard tests. Candidates who have taken a bachelor’s degree in any stream with 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ST/OBC candidates) are eligible for LLB. For BPharma: The applicant should be the holder of the certificate of 10+2 examination passed with 50%aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology.
The University has various courses across streams in 2024 session such as BTech- CSE, Mechanical, Civil, ECE, EEE, MBA, BBA, BCA, BA LLB, BCom LLB, BPharma, BSc-PCM, CBZ, Microbiology, MSc: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, MA-English, Economics, Political Science, Public Administration, M Exam dates for the entrance tests, which are common for all the courses, are mostly during April-July each year while dates for the course wise test differs. The admission process includes – Registration, examination for admission, registration & filling up option, counselling, seat allotment and finally the admission. The University has centralized counselling process for admission in different courses and programmes offered by it.

1. Qualifying Exam Marks: To be admitted to the program, the candidates should have completed the 10+2 or equivalent examination with a minimum of 45% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics for general category and 40% for SC/ST category.
2. Entrance Test: Interested candidates were to write the engineering entrance examinations such as the JEE Main/MP PET and pass cutoff marks.
3. Merit List: Seats are filled according to the merit list declared for the score obtained by candidates in the qualifying examination and entrance examination, if any.
4. Counselling: Those who are selected have to go for counselling where documents are checked before qualifying for a final admission.
5. Seat Availability: Seating matrix, roll off and candidates preference marked during counseling determines the allocation of admissions to the different B.Tech specializations available in each institution.
6. Reservation: An SC, ST, OBC, and physically challenged candidates are specially accommodated in this institute according to the government policies during the counselling sessions.

10. Since the university determines the merit lists, you have to wait for the university to announce the merit lists and check if you made the cut based on the scores you obtained.
1. Merit in qualifying exam (10+2 or equivalent): Higher percentage in 10+2 will always be preferred first in any candidate choosing process.
2. Performance in entrance exam: Some idea could be to offer preference to candidates who obtained higher scores in the entrance exam (if taken).
3. Aptitude test: Applicants mandatory undergo an aptitude test that is conducted by the institute. According to them, their performance in this test will define the ranking for admission.
