Presidency University, School of Design Bangalore has Undergraduate and Postgraduate Courses in Communication Design, Industrial Design, Spatial Design, Design Management, Fashion & Textiles and Interaction Design. It is important to note that their eligibility criteria differs depending on the department. In case of Communication Design, Industrial Design and Spatial Design One has to pass 10+2 examination in any discipline with not less than 50 % marks in aggregate. Allowable transfer examinations include CBSE, ICSE, IB, NIOS and State Boards. For Design Management and Fashion & Textiles, candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with minimum 50% marks. The Interaction Design department recruits candidates with a bachelor’s degree in Design, Engineering Information Technology or Computer applications, Architecture or any Visual Art.
The university has a total of nine design programs, which can be taken at the bachelor’s and master’s degree levels. The bachelor’s are as follows: B.Des in Communication Design, Industrial Design, Spatial Design, Fashion & Textiles and Integrated Program in Innovation, Design & Engineering. The master’s programs are as follows: M.Des in Communication Design, Industrial Design, Spatial Design and Fashion & Textiles and Master of Design in Design Management. For the 2024 admission year, the key examination dates include entrance examination to be held in the 3rd week of May 2023 and the release of results in the 4th week of June 2023. The admission process include online registration, taking the entrance tests, portfolio assessment and an interview. Admission will be given depending on the level of thinking the candidate displays, academic performance and results in the admission components. All the classes are scheduled to begin from 3rd week of July 2024 for all the design departments.

For offline admission, the application form and brochure for the courses are available from the university admissions office on the payment of the prescribed fee only. The original application form, documents and application fee should be posted along with attested photocopies of the documents before the deadline. The institute examines the candidates and selects those who get to the next level of the admission process including; design ability tests, portfolio and interview.After all test parameters, only worthy candidates with powerful creative abilities are given the final acceptance. This institute is highly selective with only a few seats available for its design programs and an even more rigorous selection process.

- Eligibility criteria: It is mandatory to clear 10+2 or equivalent examination in any stream with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) in aggregate.
- Selection process generally consists of an entrance test administered by the university in question and a round of interviews/ portfolio review.

- They are admitted from a test in design that is conducted by the university. Such areas as observation skills, sensitivity to design, ability to identify problems, imagination and ability to communicate are evaluated during this test.
- For the candidates who appeared in the UCEED then they can take direct admission on the basis of their obtained marks. In the first case, the cut-off may change every year depending on the applicants.
- There is also the lateral entry option – candidates who have completed diploma courses in design from any recognized institution are welcome to apply and write the design aptitude test.
- Moreover, after the design aptitude test, the candidates may be called for a face-to-face interview. The interview covers various aspects of the candidate such as the interests, ability as well as the overall fitness for the design program.
- Management quota is also offered for the seats which are filled according to the first-come-first-serve basis but the fees charged for these seats are very high.
