Thanjavur’s SASTRA University is one of the premier universities in Tamil Nadu that provides its learners an array of courses spread across engineering, science, humanities, law, education and medicine. The engineering departments are Computer science engineering, Electronics engineering, Artificial intelligence and Robotics engineering, Civil engineering, Mechanical engineering, Chemical engineering, etc. The requirement to get into engineering courses is to pass 12th standard with physics chemistry and maths with minimum 60-70% average marks in sciences or SASTRA engineering entrance test. The documents accepted include JEE Mains, SAT and other similar examinations.
The science departments have BSc programmes in physics, chemistry, biotechnology, visual communication among others. For BSc programs The candidate must be passed in 12th with relevant subjects for BSc programs. They accepted some competitive exams like SASTRA entrance exam and any national or state level exams. B.A English, economics, history, psychology and many other courses in school of humanities and sciences have a reservation criteria of 12th pass, in any stream. School of Law offers Five Year integrated BA LLB program which needs 12th standard pass with minimum 60% marks in any discipline as the qualifying criteria. BEd program offered at School of education which demand pass in graduation with minimum 60% marks. The medicine department offers various health sciences diploma and allied healthcare programs where the student should have 12th with minimum 60% PCB marks.
SASTRA University in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu is a private university that offers Admission in all the graduate, postgraduate and doctoral level programs in Engineering & Technology, Basic and Applied Sciences, Humanities & Social Sciences, Law and Education. Candidates who want to achieve admissions in SASTRA can submit their applications both through Internet as well as on paper.
For online applications, a candidate is required to visit sastra.edu website and then to apply for a particular course the candidate has to initially register himself on the website. To apply for the jobs, they are required to enter the details in the application form, attach necessary documents, and submit the application fees (if any) online. As for the offline application form, it can be asked for at the university admissions office, but it will be necessary to pay for it. The details filled in the offline application forms are to be downloaded and brought to the admissions officer, along with all the necessary documents with their photocopies attested, before the deadline. Application sent through post should be posted before the last date to the designated office. It means that candidate can get an offer on an academic base, then, after passing the qualifying examinations, university tests, and personal interviews. A list of selected candidates will be posted on the University website or will be communicated personally through an e-mail or telephone call.

1. Qualifying Exam Marks- At least 50% marks in aggregate of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in the 12th standard examination conducted by CBSE or any other recognized board/ University: Provided that the SC/ST candidates and the candidates belonging to other categories are required to obtain only 45% marks in the above subjects.
2. SASTRA Entrance Exam (SAEEE)- The admission process include the university’s own entrance test known as SAEEE.
- Performance in SAEEE will be used for selection in the course of ranking the students, to warrant the best performing students be selected.
3. Interview- The candidates appeared for the SAEEE will be shortlisted for interview based on their scores.
- Selection will also depend also on the performance of the candidate during the interview.
4. Rank List- The final rank list and the selection will be done based on the scores in the SAEEE(85%), the average percentage of marks scored in the 12th board exams(10%) and the performance in the interview(5%).
5. Reservation- Er Caste / Community wise quota is available as per government rules and regulation for SC/ST, OBC etc.

3. To get started with this app, you have to sign up and for this, you have to provide your email ID and some other necessary details.

5. Students need to scan and upload their photographs, signatures, class 10 and 12 marks memos, and community certificates if any.
6. Apply online for the MBA programme and pay the application fee of Rs 1000 for the general category.
7. The completed application form will be filed with an application number, which the applicant can download and print for record purposes.
8. The applications are typically called during March-April each year for the following year’s intake. The final date of entry should be confirmed and all the field should be rechecked before submission.
9. If shortlisted, candidate will receive a call to attend counselling session and document verification. The seat is assigned according to the entrance examination performance, academic background, availability, etc.
10. You should go and report to the specific department that you have been assigned depending on the course you have been admitted to, and then go through other admission procedures that include making the necessary fee payments to secure your admission.
- The candidates must have completed their Master’s degree in the respective subject with minimum 55 % in marks or equivalent CGPA. Concessions in the form of relaxation of terms and conditions for SC/ST candidates may be granted as per government rules.
- This test aims to ascertain the eligibility of the candidates for the entrance test to be taken for the University. The test checks the ability to conduct research, knowledge in subjects, and language skills.
- Short-listed candidates out of those who took the entrance test are interviewed. The interview panel assesses the academic achievements of the candidate; his/her research proclivity and the ability to undertake research in the particular area of specialization independently.
- The last stage of the decision of the candidate is based on the performance of the candidate on the written test, interview, academic attainments and experience. Opinions or recommendations from the various professionals involved may also be considered here.
- It is also important to note that there may be additional requirements such as GATE/NET qualification or work experience in some departments/subjects. It is still important to note that the criteria for determining the exact nature of work is still varying from one department to another.
- Specifically, students chosen for the PhD track are expected to take course works in their selected area of research during the initial semesters of study before embarking on the PhD research project. Course performance is also assessed with respect to assignments and other required class work.
