SMVDU at katra, Jammu & Kashmir has numerous Undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in Engineering, science, management, humanities etc. Based on the department, for getting admission in B tech in CSE, ECE, Mechanical, Civil, it is mandatory to pass 12th with PCM with minimum 60 percentage of marks is required. The admission criteria include the scores obtained in JEE Mains, JEE Advanced or SMVDUEE. Candidate must be a graduate with 50% marks and must have appeared for CAT/MAT/CMAT examination. MSc programs in Physics, Chemistry, Biotechnology etc, are offered to the BSc graduates who have got 55% marks and have passed the different national and state level entrance examinations. 50% marks in the relevant bachelors’ degree is required in MA/MCom programs and the SMVDUEE scores are accepted. Other courses available include MPhil and PhD admissions for research degrees.
Batch of 2024, for all UG/PG courses and disciplines like BTech, MBA, MA, MSc, MCom, etc., admission will begin from March/April next year. Exam dates for the most important entrance exams are – JEE Mains – (1st week of January), CAT (last week of November), MAT (1st week of February), CMAT (1st week of January) etc. After the acceptance of national/state level tests or SMVDUEE, group discussion & interview conducted by the university for some courses, the aspirants can undergo their admission process including document verification, fee deposition etc. In most cases, the classes begin in mid-August every year for the new academic session for the year.
