M.Sc Virology is a master’s degree course that takes 2 years to complete and it deals with the viruses, their life cycle, genesis, impacts, identification, control, and management. It intends to provide extensive and specific scientific training on principles, concepts and current advancements in virology. The subject-matter includes units such as virology fundamentals, diagnostic virology, viral pathogenesis, molecular diagnostics and antiviral therapeutics.
The criteria of admission for the M.Sc Virology course is that the candidate must have done B.Sc in any of the stream of life sciences such as microbiology, biotechnology, biochemistry, genetics with minimum 50-55% overall marks from any reputed institute/university. The university has provided admission through entrance tests like DUET, JNUEE, BHU-PET, GAT-B, Calcutta university test, Kerala University exam.
