The Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Acting is an undergraduate degree course typically taking three years or more to complete and prepares students in performing arts especially acting for stage, TV or the big screen. The curriculum covers theoretical concepts and skills in acting, voice control and movement; and skills in improvisation and technical aspects of theater and production. These are things like acting theory and acting practice, history of theatre, drama elements, stagecraft, makeup, speech & diction.
Most of the universities and institutes that offer the BA Acting have the standard 10+2 exams as a requirement for admission. Some have their own entrance tests to check a candidate’s capability about acting through auditions, interviews. Some of the national level entrance tests are NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture), CEED (Common Entrance Examination for Design) and some state level tests are CET (Common Entrance Test).

1. 10+2 pass in any discipline from any recognized board with aggregate of fifty percent marks. It may be noted that some institutes might have a lower minimum percentage cut off.
2. The years of service does not have an upper limit. However, the candidates of any age group are eligible to apply for the post after passing their 10+2 level education.
3. The minimum requirement is passing an entrance exam that includes acting aptitude test and personal interview. This exam assesses language proficiency in English and interpersonal skills of the examinees.
4. This is because the acting training is quite rigorous and so applicants must be fit to undertake the training. In some institutes, it is mandatory to have basic knowledge of music and dance.
