Master of Arts (MA) in Public Administration is a postgraduate course that offers a broad training in public policy, government, organizations and leadership. This course takes two years to complete and includes subjects such as public policy analysis, administrative law, public finance, human resource management. The program has been designed to enhance the managerial and analytical capabilities of learners to perform administrative functions in governmental and non-governmental organizations, non-profit organizations, NGOs, think tanks, and other similar organizations.
The entrance tests accepted for admission into the MA Public Administration programme include CAT, MAT, ATMA, XAT, CMAT or college based test such as BHU-PET, JNUEE, Ambedkar University Entrance Test. Qualifying tests such as UGC-NET, UGC-JRF scores along with the performance in graduation exam are also considered. Academic qualification along with the experience in the field of public administration also has its own importance in the admission procedure.

1. The applicant must have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum 50% marks in aggregate. Employment may be given to those with a degree in social sciences, humanities, or law.
2. While CAT/MAT/CMAT/XAT are not mandatory exams, better scores will enhance the probabilities of being granted admission. There are some institutes that have their own entrance exams.
3. Some institutes may prefer candidates with prior work experience of 2-3 years in public administration or policy-making but it is not compulsory. Anybody including fresh graduates can apply.
