Ph.D. (Medical Physics) is a doctoral level course that teaches the use of physics in the field of medicine and healthcare. This highly specialized course normally takes 3-5 years of full time study and involves lectures, research and the preparation of a thesis. These include radiation physics, medical imaging physics, radiotherapy physics, nuclear medicine physics, radiation biology, radiation protection and safety.
In India, the entrance exams accepted for admission to Ph.D. (Medical Physics) programmes are CSIR-UGC NET, GATE, JEST, and some institute/university level tests.
