Bachelor of Arts (BA) Philosophy is an undergraduate course that deals with the study of philosophy. The students improve their critical thinking and analytical skills as they study philosophical concepts like metaphysics, epistemology, logic, ethics, aesthetics. This is a full-time 3-year degree program that assists learners in acquiring historical antecedents of philosophical concepts and integrating these concepts with current dilemmas.
Candidates aspiring to secure admission in first year of Bachelor of Arts (Philosophy) course in Indian College /Universities will have to pass the qualifying examination conducted by the respective education Institute to which they are seeking admission. The entrance tests generally accepted are the National Level tests which are CUET, state level tests which are individually university/institute conducted tests or tests conducted by certain particular institutions such as CUCET and JNU Entrance Examination.

1. High school graduate or equivalent with necessary subjects for college admission such as English, math, history.
2. Complete an application for admission to an accredited college or university, Bachelor of Arts program, with open admissions or based on the certain GPA, certain test scores.
3. Change the major to Philosophy once admitted, which does not require the student to complete any rigorous courses as the technical major might need.
4. Complete lower division GE courses in areas such as writing, quantitative reasoning, arts and humanities, social science etc in accordance with the requirement.
5. Satisfy any prerequisites required by the Philosophy department for upper division major courses in the first two years of study.
6. Complete any other outstanding Philosophy major courses including first-year courses in symbolic and informal logic, ethics, history of philosophy, other courses in the area of Philosophy and, possibly, a senior project.
7. Accomplish requirements for the total credit hours of the BA degree, minimum GPA’s, and apply for graduation upon completion of major and college needed hours.
