Master of Engineering (ME) in Electrical Engineering is a postgraduate level engineering course. Usually the ME Electrical Engineering program lasts for 2 academic years. It is typically a two-year full-time program or a three-year part-time program in many universities. The curriculum enables the acquisition of complex competencies in areas such as power systems, machine learning, renewable energy, VLSI, wireless networks. Students need to undertake some core courses in addition to optional courses in order to choose a subject of their interest.

ME Electrical Engineering Course Eligibility 2024

1. A first degree in Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation Engineering or any other related engineering discipline with not less than 60% average performance. 

2. Even the students of final year of bachelors is also allowed to apply provisionally if they meet the minimum marks requirement.

3. Minimum and the desirable passing score in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) as prescribed by the admitting institute. In most of the IITs and NITs, the GATE qualification is being considered mandatory.  

4. Sponsored candidates from public sector undertakings may have to have a minimum of 2 years of work experience if they do not have GATE scores.

5. Likewise, institutes where the seats are available may offer preference to and relaxation in the eligibility criteria for candidates having an Associate Membership of such other Professional Body as IEEE, and IETE.

6. Applicants should be fluent in English for reading, writing and comprehending and possess good analytical and problem solving skills.
