The Master of Arts (MA) in Archaeology is a postgraduate program designed to equip students with knowledge and understanding of man and his past using physical remains and artefacts. The program duration is usually two years full time. Students receive necessary background and practice in theoretical aspects of archaeology, techniques of field and laboratory archaeological work, scientific dating methods, interpretation and conservation of sites.
GRE or Graduate Record Examination General Test, TOEFL or Test of English as a Foreign Language for international candidates and GMAT or Graduate Management Admission Test is accepted for admission to MA Archaeology in some institutes. Some of the colleges might also have their own entrance examination. This may include good performance in a related bachelors degree for instance history, anthropology or classics.
