MBA stands for Master of Business Administration and this is a 2-year professional post graduate degree in management study. The MBA in Marketing specialization aims at cultivating expertise in the measurement of consumer behavior data, use of digital marketing techniques, market research, and new product and service development. Key areas of specialization include consumer behaviour, branding, services marketing, sale management, international marketing, marketing data analysis together with elective fields in retail, rural and health care marketing. 

According to the admission criteria for MBA (Marketing), the students should have a bachelor’s degree in any field. The entrance tests that are recognized are CAT, XAT, MAT, CMAT, GMAT, and ATMA among others. The exams assess the quantitative skills, data analysis and logical ability, English comprehension ability and English language ability. Shortlisted candidates have to write the Writing Ability Test (WAT) and appear for the Personal Interview (PI) to test their personality traits required in managers and business leaders in the top B-schools providing the MBA (Marketing) course.

MBA Marketing Course Eligibility 2024

1. Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in any stream from a recognized university with the minimum of 50% marks. Marketing or business major degree is preferred but candidates with other degrees are also considered.

2. One has to appear for national or state level management entrance exams such as CAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT/ATMA and have obtained the minimum cut – off percentile as prescribed by the institute. 

3. Two to three years of prior work experience in the marketing or sales field is preferred. Candidates in their final year can apply and fresh graduates depending on the institute recruitment policies.

4. Besides academics, good communication skills, analytical mind, problem-solving skills, leadership and teamwork skills are considered during the hiring process. 

5. The aspirant is required to write a statement of purpose stating their reasons as to why they would like to study MBA in Marketing. Per resource, managerial candidates should possess strong writing abilities which are a plus.

6. Besides the tests scores, the final admission offers involve performance in Group Discussion, Personal Interview and Writing Test conducted by the institutes.
