M.Sc. Biomedical Science is a postgraduate master’s degree program in the health-related field which majors in the use of biology and physiology in medical practice. This is an interdisciplinary program that prepares students in areas such as molecular biology, biochemistry microbial biotechnology, physiology, pharmacology to enable the students to do further biomedical research.
The entrance examinations which are considered for offering admission to M.Sc. The common Biomedical Science programs offered in the universities include CSIR NET Life sciences, GATE-Life sciences, ICMR JRF, GPAT, and University conducts entrance tests like JNUEE, BHU PET. Some even take the percentage obtained by the candidate in B.Sc. any course in their final year or in their entrance tests for shortlisting purposes.

1. Candidate must be a graduate with minimum 50% marks from any branch of science or any science related stream such as Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, from a recognized university.
2. It means that the students in the final year of graduation can also apply in the provisionally basis if they have scored good marks according to the minimum requirement.
3. Whilst some universities offer admission through examination there are others which offer admission based on merit.
4. Qualification and experience: basic understanding of biology, anatomy, physiology, and biochemistry will be an added advantage.
5. Since most of the students taking these courses come from a non-science background, they may have to offer a bridge course as set by the university.
6. Some universities/institutes may demand the applicant should have least 2 years work experience in relevant fields.
