B.Tech Biomedical Engineering is an undergraduate engineering program which is of four years’ duration. This course offers practice in areas such as medical imaging, biomechanics, biomaterials, bioinstrumentation, and medical informatics. Students are taught how engineering concepts can be used in the healthcare and medical industries. They learn about the human body, its functions and even engineering principles to build biomedical products such as medical equipment, software and even diagnostic tools.
The entrance tests which are considered for admission to the B.Tech Biomedical Engineering programme include JEE Main, SRMEEE, WBJEE, COMEDK UGET, UPSEE and other state level tests. It is also important for institutes to look into performance in the Class XII examinations, particularly in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology, for admission. Very few colleges have their own entrance tests for providing admission in Biomedical engineering.
