Agriculture the backbone of the India’s economy, providing jobs to nearly 60% of individuals engaged in this sector. Towards this, India has a powerful military of agricultural universities and of colleges offering education and conducting researches in the field. At this moment, there are 63 model universities based on the concept of the US land-grant college system. Furthermore, there are central/deemed universities such as Indian Agricultural Research Institutes and National Dairy Research Institutes that principally deal with agriculture.

Agribusiness - Explores the agriculture, economy, business management, and finance of farming enterprises and businesses. The agenda can comprise different content such as marketing, accounting, finance, policy, entrepreneurship, and risk management.
Food Science - The subject areas include Food Science, chemistry, microbiology, safety, processing, preservation, and packaging. Comprises on classes related to food engineering, sensory evaluation, product development, quality control, and food statutes and regulations
Horticulture - Highlights more on the deep knowledge related to the initiated and effective plantings of fruits, nuts, vegetables, flowers, grasses, and ornamentals. Subjects such as the multiplication of plants, farming methods, pest control, and post-harvest handling as well as others are also presented.
